Tadeusz Szulc was born in Wola Korybutowa, Lublin Voivodeship, in 1952, where he still lives and creates. The son of well-known sculptor Stanisław Szulc, he was exposed to sculpture from a very early age. Szulc is a member of the Association of Folk Artists (STL). His preferred medium is lime tree wood and his works include both monochromatic and colourful representations of religious motifs and scenes depicting village life. Szulc has won numerous prizes and awards, including 1st prize in the “Ogólnopolski Konkurs Sztuki Ludowej Młodych” (National Youth Folk Art Competition) in Warsaw 1969 and 1st prize in the “Wojewódzki Konkurs Sztuki Ludowej Młodych” (Voivodeship Youth Folk Art Competition). Szulc is now teaching sculpting to his son Michał.
